Palgrave Macmillan – Publisher of the Year 2003

Palgrave Macmillan has been awarded Publisher of the Year 2003 

by The Booksellers Association of the United Kingdom & Ireland 

Academic, Professional and Specialist Booksellers Group.

The award was presented to Margaret Hewinson, Sales & Marketing Director at the group’s 32nd annual conference on 7th March 2003.  Academic, Professional and Specialist booksellers voted for the Publisher of the Year on the basis of five criteria:

  1. Sales representative support
  2. Terms
  3. Head office responsiveness
  4. Quality of publishing
  5. Ease of handling returns

Thirty-five publishers were considered for the award.  Palgrave Macmillan did well across the board with the highest scores of all publishers for sales representative support and the quality of publishing.  Dominic Knight, Managing Director commented ‘Winning this on the basis of the quality of our publishing as well as on sales, marketing and distribution is a real tribute to everyone in the company.’
