Macmillan launches the new onestopenglish Staff Room
The Macmillan Publishing Group is delighted to announce the launch of the brand new onestopenglish Staff Room.
Onestopenglish (www.onestopenglish.com) is Macmillan’s hugely successful free resource site for
English language teachers. There are currently over 350,000 registered users on the site from nearly every country in the world. As well as
providing publisher-generated teaching resources, onestopenglish lets teachers collaborate and share information online in areas like the
Teachers’ diaries, the Lesson Share competition and the Forum sections of the site.
The Staff Room is the new premium content area of the onestopenglish site and sits alongside the existing free resources. Members of the
Staff Room receive many additional benefits including access to a fully searchable database of thousands of worksheets and access to weekly
news lessons published in conjunction with the Guardian Weekly. This means that Staff Room members can use onestopenglish as a systematic
online resource to support their classroom teaching.
The subscription model for the Staff Room, which costs only £24 for 12 months' subscription, was developed in response to the specific
requests of onestopenglish users. Feedback gathered via questionnaires, workshops and focus groups reported that onestopenglish users were
prepared to pay a small subscription fee in order to have access to an expanded database of material and the means to search and locate
highly specific teaching resources.
