Palgrave Macmillan announce the acquisition of the Core Statutes series from Law Matters Publishing

Palgrave Macmillan, the academic and professional publishing division of Macmillan Publishers Ltd, are pleased to announce the acquisition of the Core Statutes series, previously published by Law Matters Publishing.

The series currently comprises nine annual publications. Each book in the series is compiled by expert lecturers and has been designed to contain an accessible and up-to-date summary of core statutes in each area. The first editions to be published by Palgrave Macmillan will be the 2007-08 editions.

Palgrave Macmillan are the publishers of the well regarded Palgrave Law Masters; a series of clear explanatory texts suitable for students on academic and professional courses written by leading authors in the field. Titles in the series include Contract Law (6 th edition) by Ewan McKendrick and Company Law (5 th edition) by Janet Dine.

Margaret Hewinson, Director of College Publishing at Palgrave Macmillan said, ‘ Student enrolment in Law courses has increased dramatically over the last 10 years and we are committed to publishing the best books for students in this area. There is a natural home for the Core Statutes series alongside our Palgrave Law Masters list. This acquisition will allow us to increase our offering in this area.’

The acquisition coincides with plans to recruit a commissioning editor and marketing executive for Law, further underlining Palgrave Macmillan’s commitment to Law Publishing.
