Anthony Forbes Watson appointed Managing Director of Pan Macmillan UK
Anthony Forbes Watson has been appointed Managing Director of Pan Macmillan UK with immediate effect following a highly successful period as interim manager for the trade publishing company. He will join Macmillan as an Executive Director, reporting directly to Macmillan CEO Annette Thomas.
Annette Thomas said, "My colleagues and I have been hugely impressed with Anthony’s approach during the interim period and I am delighted that he has accepted the post of Managing Director, Pan Macmillan. Annette continued, “Anthony is a leading figure in the industry with a long and distinguished career, most recently as CEO of Penguin UK from 1996 to 2005, and since then as a consultant on a number of high profile projects for several leading publishing houses. In his interim role he has taken on the day-to -day management of the company and has also made a significant contribution to our strategic discussions and plans for Pan Macmillan. It is a real coup for Macmillan to attract someone of his calibre and experience and I am so pleased to welcome him to our team”.
